Over the years sustainable has become a trendy term, for us it’s a way of life. We’re genuinely committed to reducing our impact on the environment by generating as little waste as we can, recycling everything we can and reducing the energy we use wherever possible.
Here’s just a few of the ways that we reduce our already toy-dog sized carbon footprint:
To offset the carbon we generate driving cars and flying in planes we planted thousands of trees on the property where WashBar started. Now we are living in the city we are working with our local council and planting trees on grass verges where everyone can enjoy them.
WashBar’s award winning packaging is either compostable or completely recyclable. Our soaps are completely free of any plastic packaging which is a huge upside for the environment. All our ingredients are biodegradable.
Because we lived rurally for many years (collecting our own water, generating our own power and growing most of our own food) we are still very connected to our environment.
At WashBar we’re committed to making a difference. We believe that by all playing a part together we can do great things. Some companies throw around the term ‘corporate citizens’ or other marketing doodoo, but to us being part of the community is central to the WashBar way. We are proud to lend a hand to those organisations and people across New Zealand who are making a difference in our community.
